That's a great question.

In designing the HTML5 Voki editor (several years ago now) we had settled on a certain set of features - and correctly or mistakenly it was thought that movement and placement of the Voki character within the Scene frame was not necessary, and does potentially lead to problems. In an effort to "keep it simple" and concentrate on the core functionality - we decided as we did, with each Voki character centrally placed & scaled according to that character's unique design.

I would not rule out a reversal of this decision, but, since the HTML5 Editor was launched, I believe this is the first time that this issue has been raised by a customer. 

To answer your question more specifically - the Flash editor is deprecated and we cannot make it available (even if we did, browsers are on track to stop supporting Flash later this year).

We do offer a speaking character product for business use which does offer this and many other features not available in Voki - not sure if relevant for your needs, but please do check out www.sitepal.com.

Linda - Thank you for this feedback.

We've found that there can be problems to record for users with low upload bandwidth, and specifically on Mac Safari browser.

We're looking at both of these issues - and I hope to have an improvement before long.

Very sorry about the student's frustration. For now I suggest to tell students that if the recording does not work well - use the text-to-speech input instead for the moment.

Are the 4 of you using the same ID?  That's implied from your question - and it will not work.

Voki hangouts is designed to enable students to provide their Voki thoughts and comments to teacher specified Topics.

To do that, each student should use their own personal login - as specified and provided to them by their teacher.

So - before using Voki Hangouts - first add your students under Voki Classroom and assign them their usernames and passwords.

First, regarding Google Site - as I mentioned in response to your other post, please see instructions in our support page, under "Voki Tips and More" near the bottom of the page -

Regarding the mobile app - this seems unusual. I just checked on both iphone and ipad & works normally for me.

It should not matter whether you are logged in or not, but please do login to allow you full access to all premium characters. 

To login, touch the Voki logo at top right, and select the login option from the menu. Use your online Voki credentials to login (same username and pswd as registered on the Voki website).


If that does not help & you still see the same problem, try closing (clearing ) the app and relaunching it.

If that still does not help, please check if you have the latest version - if an update option exists in the App store - please update.

Let me know how goes - and also which version of iOS you are using.

It is not possible to remove the Voki logo. I realize that you mentioned your intended use is non-commercial, but my only solution would be to refer you to our SitePal product, where you can in fact remove branding. Take a look and consider - and as your use is non-commercial (and educational?) I should be able to arrange for an educational discount.

Apologies for the delay in posting a response. We did check (at the time) - and we checked again now.

Our QA review was unable to recreate this problem - audios up to 90 seconds long can be created and uploaded by paid customers.

If you are still seeing this problem - please let me know and we will take a closer look.
